Have any of you tried or do you use one of the electronic fermentation monitors that are available on the market. I’ve had a tilt for a few months now and used it for two brews. They work really well but they do require another device like a ipad to be left near them to collect the data as they only work with Bluetooth and an app. This is the main info you see on the iPad or phone.

And it also can be set to upload the data to a spreadsheet in the cloud that you can access. example below

Recen bought an iSpindel which is an open source version that’s less than half the price of the tilt to try. Haven’t used it yet but it does connect directly to your WiFi so data logging via an app like BrewBench will be easier.
it’s a bit larger as well but that’s not a downside

Interested to find out what you think.
I leave an old phone near the brew fridge to act as the data capture device and then use either the Grainfather app to monitor remotely or the built in google sheet for my wines. I don’t use it to calculate abv as I’m not convinced they are 100% accurate but I do use it to monitor fermentation and get a good idea when it’s finished.
